The Savage 12 Hour Adventure Race

USARA REGIONAL QUALIFIER

June 4, 2017: Wharton State Forest, NJ

Join us for an incredible day of adventure! This year's course captures the unique flavor of the area in one fabulous day of racing. All of our adventurous participants will enjoy scenic mountain biking,  river paddling, and challenging orienteering. Be prepared to think on your feet, make decisions on the fly, and move quickly.

Wharton State Forest encompasses over 110,000 acres of land filled with miles of waterways, off road trails and beautiful landscapes. From the dense pine and oak woodlands to mosaic meadows and cedar swamps, the area offers a unique look at the hidden treasures of New Jersey. On this race course you could spot river otters or spy an osprey on your paddle. Perhaps you’ll stumble upon the ghostly remains of yesteryear’s industrial villages.

There will be aspects to this race that will challenge the best racers and truly entertain the novice ones. The event is ideal for experienced racers, and for those teams ready to step up to the next level of racing. Team work and stamina will define the top finishers.

The 2017 Savage 12 Hour Adventure Race is a USARA Regional Qualifier and a member of the North American  Adventure Racing Series.

Course Designers: Bruce Kuo returns once again to bring you one of the best adventure racing courses on the east coast! Joining him is  course designer and experienced adventure racer Eric Schrading. Both bring an outstanding background in all facets of multi-sport racing. They have been active and long time members of the adventure racing community; having raced in all levels of local, regional, national, and international events. They aim to please and surprise you.
